Starz Win 08 Junior Region 5 - Iowa

Here are the weekend team results for the Starz Divers, and the National Training Center and visiting athletes who participated at this weekend's USA Diving Region 5 Championships in Ames, IA.
The coaching staff is very pleased with where the divers are right now in competition performance. We benefit from the athletes' attendance at the Spring competitions by evaluating the athletes' pre-dive routine, response to instruction, performer readiness, and skills sets that are displayed throughout such a competition; and our staff is now better able to develop lesson plans that can target specific areas of development per athlete for the upcoming months of training.
Congratulations to our Starz divers in Iowa for capturing the Spring Junior Region 5 team win! We experienced 4 double event champions who became high point award winners for the weekend - garnishing a total of 10 Individual Regional Champions out of a possible 16, plenty of individual qualifiers and finalists, and many inspired performances by our 13 Starz representatives, 1 NTC representative (Steele Johnson - formerly Westfield Starz), and 1 visiting athlete representative (Shanna Schuelein - former diver of a former Starz program in Oklahoma).
Furthermore, many of performers posted score totals that would place them very high or in the pole position with respect to national rankings going into the USA Diving Junior Spring West Nationals - hosted in Columbia, Missouri, at the end of April.
