Starz Places 4th at East Nationals Written By: Starz Diving
Starz Diving Club put in an impressive showing at the 2007 East Nationals. Andrew Cramer led the charge with a first place finish on 3 meter followed by Sarah Bacon's second place finishes on both boards. Andrew Porten Placed 6th and 4th on the 3 meter and 1 meter respectively, and Morgan Meixner scored 6th and 8th on the 1 meter and 3 meter respectively.
Starz 13 & Under divers held the lead after day one and remained strong in day two. With no 16-18 divers enrolled in the meet, Starz dropped to 3rd after day two. Alex Jones helped with a 11th place finish in the 1 meter event. The third and final day of competition saw the completion of an impressive weekend as the Starz held on for the 4th place overall finish.
The Starz would also like to recognize a couple former Starz Divers who are now enrolled at the National Training Center for USA Diving. Steele Johnson, coached by Molly Parker of the Starz Diving Club, posted a second place finish both boards; and Lacey Houser, (coached by almost everybody here at the Starz!), finished 5th on the 3 meter event.
Steele Johnson and Sarah Bacon have been selected from their place of finish on both boards to represent the United States in England at the British Elite Junior Nationals at the end of May.
Great job Starz! What a great way to start out the 2007 competitive season!
