Starz Divers Excel in Three Regions

Starz Divers participated in three region meets this past weekend and Dive Oklahoma took on yet another. We are waiting on the results of the Oklahoma Region Meet to be sent in.

Region 2: Akron, OH

Representing Starz Diving in Akron, Hamilton South Eastern Starz and Whiteland Starz finished a respectable 7th place over all. The men’s championship found the Starz in 3rd behind American Flyers and the Akron Rippers while the women finished in 9th .

The Starz earned 7 medals and qualified in 6 events for the East Zone Championships which will be held in Moultrie, GA/

Region 4: Bloomington, IN

Starz Diving edged out US Elite Diving by a single point to win the men’s championship and beat Tri-State Diving by 18 to win the women’s title. Starz Combined to win the overall title by almost 100 points.

Individually the Starz Divers took 31 medals and qualified for 19 spring board events. These divers will head down to Moultrie, GA for the East Zone Championships in approximately three weeks to qualify for the JR Nationals we will be hosting in Indianapolis the last week of July.

Eric Barnes’ Rising Starz, Noblesville Starz, Richmond Starz, and U of I Starz joined forces to represent the Starz Diving Club at the Region 4 Championships.

Region 5: Brown Deer, WI

Starz Diving finished in an overall 7th out of 15 teams finishing 56 points out of first place. The Starz were represented at the meet by four of Sean McCarthy’s Rising Starz group and 2 divers from the Pendleton Starz. The girls finished up in third place 3 points behind North Shore diving and 27 points behind St. Louis Diving Club.

Scott Berger was the only male diver representing Starz Diving in the meet and he qualified in 7th position on both boards.

Individually Starz Divers took 15 medals and qualified for 8 of the Spring Board Events for the West Zone Championships to be held in Pasadena, CA. Each Starz Diver in the event earned at least one medal at the meet.

Over All:

Starz Diving had 30 divers participate in the Region Championships earning the right to represent Starz Diving in 36 spring board events at the Zone Championships. These divers earned 56 medals over the course of the weekends events.

Congratulations to all the Athletes and Coaches for a job well done. We are proud of each and every one of you for all the hours you put in the pool and the efforts you put forth at these meets.
